Daily Fantasy Baseball: Draftkings Picks For April 17
Welcome to the Monday edition of Daily Fantasy Baseball and your Draftkings Picks For April 17.
Tonight there is a lot of great mid-range options for pitching on this hot and heavy nine game slate.
The flip side of that is that the bats typically get the better of the mid-range guys.
When we look at the Vegas totals there are a lot of game totals at 8 and 8.5 so that should tell us that picking the right bats are going to be crucial tonight.
Lets’ get to the Draftkings Picks For April 17.
Draftkings Picks For April 17
Danny Salazar, CLE at MIN ($10,300)
The most expensive option and probably the best option. He has had control problems early on this year, but oh the K upside. The Twins have actually hit the ball fairly well this year too. Unfortunately, Byron Buxton doesn’t get to bat nine times. I wouldn’t blame you if you faded him.
Jharel Cotton, OAK vs. TEX ($8,200)
Just like the Twins, the Rangers have been dangerous this season as well. However, we get the park shift in Oakland. If this game was in Texas, I’d say “NO!”
Willson Contreras, CHC vs. MIL ($3,600)
There is really nothing great here and that’s the catcher position in general. Contreras gets an honorable mention here because of where he plays. He hasn’t really been knocking the cover off the ball, but if I’m going to pay up it will be for Contreras.
Yasmani Grandal, LAD vs. ARI ($3,500)
I don’t trust Robbie Ray as far as I can throw him. I wish this game was in Arizona, but it’s not so let’s go with another good option that should be batting in the middle of the order. Once again the catcher position STINKS!
Eric Thames, MIL at CHC ($3,800)
Say what? This price is too low. Thames has hit a home run in four straight and is tied for the league lead with six dingers! The price is too low to ignore. Go nuts!
Freddie Freeman, ATL vs. SD ($4,600)
Freddie Freeman has been rock solid this year. He gets to face Jared Weaver this evening and I like my odds. He has been on base every game this year, save for two games. He’s my top option tonight.
Jose Altuve, HOU vs. LAA ($5,100)
Man the Angels stink. I wish they would #freemiketrout. The fact that they are bad makes it our win. I’ll be looking to stack Astro’s tonight and it all starts with the straw that stirs the drink.
Brandon Phillips, ATL vs. SD ($3,600)
I’m attacking Jared Weaver tonight. You can count on Brandon Phillips to be consistent, just like he has been all year.
Kris Bryant, CHC vs. MIL ($5,000)
Get ready to pay up. When he is not modeling for Express, (Great deal on clothing this week) he is mashing the baseball. Once again, a great bat facing mediocre pitching.
Justin Turner, LAD vs. ARI ($3,700)
There is some nice value here. Like I mentioned before, I don’t like or trust this Robbie Ray to continue form. In my opinion, the Dodgers make a great stack due to west coast bias.
Francisco Lindor, CLE at MIN ($4,200)
Somebody call 911! Francisco Lindor is killing it early this season. He has a 10 game hit streak going, so I’ve either cursed him or he will continue to mash!
Corey Seager, LAD vs. ARI ($4,400)
There is no Trevor Story on this slate, so let’s get some lefty on lefty crime in LA. Corey Seager has reached base in every game except for three of them. I’ll take the $200 discount on Lindor, but once again lefty vs. lefty and west coast bias will leave Seager low owned.
Mike Trout, LAA at HOU ($5,400)
The greatest baseball player on the planet gets a great match-up versus Charlie Morton. Trout is always in play if you can afford him. Tonight, there is decent pitching value so you should be able to squeeze him in.
Khris Davis, OAK vs. TEX ($4,100)
Another player to make our list that is tied for the league lead in home runs. He gets a great match-up vs. his former teammate in A.J. Griffin. Oakland is a bigger ballpark that doesn’t seem to matter for Crush Davis.
Ryan Braun, MIL at CHC ($5,000)
As you have guessed I’m paying up for outfielders. Braun is in the middle of trade talks with the Dodgers, but that hasn’t stopped him from tearing the cover of the ball.
Remember we can only stack five hitters. However, as I mentioned before, the three team requirement is gone. Tonight is a great night to stack teams you wouldn’t normally stack. Here are my top stacks.
- Atlanta Braves
- Los Angeles Dodgers
- New York Yankees
- Houston Astros
Best of luck today and I hope you enjoyed my Draftkings Picks For April 17.
