Welcome to the Week 2 version of Daily Fantasy Football D/ST Value Plays. If Week 1 gave us any insight into which D/ST will be elite this year, the Bills, Rams, Ravens, Panthers and Broncos all have a chance to be Fantasy’s top D/ST in 2015.

We also learned that quarterback’s Kirk Cousins, Jameis Winston and Blake Bortles will boost the stock of opposing defenses because of their propensity to throw interceptions.

Meanwhile, players like Tavon Austin and Tyler Lockett, who are exceptional return men, will also improve D/ST stock with their ability to score touchdowns on special teams.

For Fantasy, match-ups are key. Soft offenses, a struggling quarterback or special-teams units that are susceptible to big plays could create an ideal match-up play for your Daily Fantasy Football lineup.

Now that we’ve established the criteria for our Week 2 Daily Fantasy Football D/ST options, let’s uncover the week’s best values

3 DFS Value Plays at D/ST

St. Louis Rams vs. Washington Redskins ($4,900)

The Rams aren’t necessarily a “value play,” but their match-up against the Redskins is elite. In Week 1, the Rams recorded six sacks and an interception against the elusive Russell Wilson and Tavon Austin recorded a punt return for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Redskins’ quarterback Kirk Cousins is turnover prone and plays with a bit of reckless abandon when under pressure. In addition, the Redskins gave up a punt return TD to Jarvis Landry, as their special teams continues to be one of the worst in the NFL over the past few years.

You’ll pay the price for the Rams’ D/ST in Week 2, but the match-up couldn’t be better.

Carolina Panthers vs. Houston Texans ($4,700)

The Panthers’ defense is good – very good. In Week 1 the Panthers recorded five sacks, two interceptions and a touchdown against Blake Bortles and the Jaguars. This week, the Panthers will face the Houston Texans who gave up five sacks and an interception against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1.

The Panthers also get the added benefit of facing quarterback Ryan Mallet, who after five years in the league will be playing in just his ninth career game. And just in case you needed a little more confidence in starting the Panthers’ D/ST in Week 2, they will be playing at home in their 2015 home opener.

New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($4500)

It’s not that we’re believers in the Saints’ defense as much as we like the idea of picking on rookie quarterback Jameis Winston, who was sacked four times and threw two picks in Week 1. Winston is a turnover-prone QB who isn’t afraid to throw the football into tight windows. With his style of play, he’ll continue to be susceptible to interceptions, making the Saints a value play in Week 2. The Saints also have the benefit of playing at home in the dome.

Good luck in Week 2 and let our DFS Value Plays help you build that million-dollar lineup.
