Welcome back to the 3 Value Play Running Backs for Week 8 Daily Fantasy Football. Week 7 went much better than Week 6 with all of my picks hitting the mark, or very close to it. My lineups for the Weekend slate on FanDuel also did well. Nice to rebound in Week 7 from a rough Week 6 when it came to RBs. Now let’s look to do the same in Week 8!

The Value Pick of Lamar Miller (37.1 points) was Daily Fantasy Football gold, Justin Forsett (11.9 points) and Latavius Murray (15.1) also fared well and met their value with Lamar Miller being the biggest hit of the them all.

My recommendation to avoid these three RBs hit the mark. You were warned!! Carlos Hyde managed four points against a tough Seattle defense and potentially playing injured. LeGarette Blount carried the ball three times and killed it with -0.3 points and Joseph Randle (2.4 points) had a few sharp looking runs before leaving the game with an injury, allowing Darren McFadden to shine.

Also a reminder that I am not encouraging using two of my three picks each week as much as targeting one and avoiding others each week as you build your lineups.

With that I wish you all the best of luck and encourage you to stay tuned for Levi Serfoss’ and my own Daily Fantasy Football picks and Lineups later in the week if you want targets, or roster construction help on socalledfantasyexperts.com and even on Twitter.

Week 8 Daily Fantasy Football

3 Value Plays at Running Back on FanDuel

Justin Forsett, Baltimore Ravens vs. San Diego Chargers ($6,900)

Forsett was held at bay by the Cardinals defense in Week 7,  but managed to find the end-zone on a 14 yard scamper. He is a pass catching weapon and the Chargers defense is nothing compared to the Cardinals. At this price, sign me up.

(Week 7 FanDuel Points: 11.9 /FPPG: 12.6 )

Chris Johnson, Arizona Cardinals at Cleveland Browns ($7,300)

Johnson is kind of cheating as a value play since he is $300 over my $7,000 cut off, but he is a great value this week facing the Browns. Johnson has done nothing but surprise this year in the lethal Cardinals offense and this week he should have minimal issues meeting value if he is used in a similar fashion as he has all season.

(Week 7 FanDuel Points: 18.2/ FPPG: 11.8 Points)

Charcandrick West, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Detroit Lions ($6,600)

After throwing up a dud in Week 6, West hit the mark in Week 7 with 110 yards on the ground and a TD. He received a full workload, which is a good sign, but an even better sign was it was against a Top 10 Steelers rush defense. Detroit ranks 24th against the run, so West should be able to do some damage once again in Week 8.

(Week 6 FanDuel Points: 19.9  / FPPG: 4.1 Points)

3 Running Backs to Avoid on FanDuel

Latavius Murray, Oakland Raiders vs. New York Jets ($6,900)

The Jets have a fierce front seven and with this I don’t expect Murray to have a very productive day. Anything is possible, but if I have this amount of money to spend on a running back, I will be looking elsewhere in Week 8.

Alfred Blue, Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans ($6,500)

Blue is another player who isn’t an outrageous cost, but once again I simply don’t trust him to have the big play or solid output. He could score three touchdowns, but for me, I am looking for ways to save elsewhere and get West or Forsett in my lineups instead.

Dion Lewis, New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins ($7,000)

Lewis has been a spark plug and Fantasy gem so far this season, but he did not practice Tuesday and with a Thursday game, I am not sure if it’s worth the risk to play Lewis in Week 8. In tourneys, perhaps, but Lewis will be owned less because of this concern and I am not looking to use him at this price in my 50/50’s this week.
