Week 9 DFS Picks: The Cam Newton Show

Last week’s DFS lineup saw the starting quarterback benched. Let’s shoot for someone more established in the Week 9 DFS Picks, shall we?

The DFS lineup this week is built off a Carolina Panthers stack- Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey.

Newton and McCaffrey are playing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend. After putting up 36 points against one of the best defenses in the league, they looked poised to repeat this weekend against a weak Buccaneers defense.

So, let’s get into it.

DFS Week 9 Picks

QB Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers (DK $6,600)

As previously mentioned, Newton has a terrific matchup this weekend against the Buccaneers. Newton has been terrific all season using both his legs and his arm to get Fantasy points, and his best game is coming up this weekend.

Another Carolina Panther with a great Fantasy matchup. McCaffrey scored two touchdowns last week against the Baltimore Ravens, one of the best defenses in the NFL.

McCaffrey will have a repeat performance and be a boon for Fantasy players this weekend against the Buccaneers.

RB Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns (DK $4,500)

Nick Chubb has received the most amount of carries since the Carlos Hyde trade. Over the past two weeks, Chubb has carried the ball 36 times.

Volume is king in Fantasy Football, and now Chubb enters a game against the Kansas City Chiefs who are dreadful at stopping the run. Expect a big game for Chubb.

WR Brandin Cooks, Los Angeles Rams (DK $6,700)

Cooks is one of the more expensive wide receivers on Draftkings for this weekend, but ultimately it is worth it.

The Rams face off against the New Orleans Saints this weekend in what is sure to be a high scoring game. Cooks will surely be one of the beneficiaries in the high-flying Rams offense this weekend.

WR Michael Crabtree, Baltimore Ravens (DK $4,800)

The Ravens offense flopped in Week 8 against the Panthers. A bounce-back week is in store.

Crabtree has been one of Joe Flacco’s top targets this season. They will surely have to throw against the Steelers this weekend, and Crabtree should receive a lot of targets.

WR DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins (DK $4,600)

It’s always risky betting on Brock Osweiler, but here goes nothing.

Parker missed most of this season with various injuries, but he broke out in Week 8. Parker eclipsed 100 receiving yards and drew a lot of targets.

Expect Parker to continue his momentum this weekend against a weak New York Jets defense this weekend.

TE Greg Olsen, Carolina Panthers (DK $4,700)

Another Carolina Panthers player, you say? Heck yeah, another Carolina Panthers player.

The Panthers are in line for a huge day this Sunday, as previously stated. Olsen will be the beneficiary of many Newton throws and he could potentially end up the end zone. Start Olsen this weekend and feel confident doing it.

Flex RB Tarik Cohen, Chicago Bears (DK $6,200)

Tarik Cohen has slowly but surely taken over the starting running back duties for the Chicago Bears. Cohen is a threat in both the running game and the receiving game.

Sunday, the Bears face the lowly Buffalo Bills who were just shredded by James White and the New England Patriots. Cohen is a similar player to White, expect him to match what White did on Monday night.

D/ST Chicago Bears (DK $4,100)

They play the Buffalo Bills who may be forced to play either Nathan Peterman or Matt Barkley this weekend. Need I say more?
