Quarterback rankings can spark a few debates in Fantasy Football, but providing running back rankings is like throwing a tub of blood out into the water for a bunch of starving sharks.

The return of Adrian Peterson and the four-game suspension of Le’Veon Bell puts a lot of pressure on the first pick in any draft, and Fantasy players are generally wrestling between drafting Peterson, Jamaal Charles or Eddie Lacy with the very first selection. According to, it doesn’t appear that too many people are deterred by Peterson’s absence, nor are they bothered by Bell’s suspension.

2015 Fantasy Football

The two big moves of LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills and DeMarco Murray to the Philadelphia Eagles changes the running back landscape. The ADP data from suggests that Fantasy Football players still consider McCoy worth a first-round selection, but DeMarco Murray is currently available at the start of Round 2. This makes sense with how much how much Rex Ryan loves to run the ball and Ryan Mathews cutting into Murray’s workload, but could Murray outperform expectations once again in 2015?

Youngsters C.J. Anderson and Jeremy Hill are finding spots on Fantasy rosters in Round 2, and Melvin Gordon, Frank Gore, Alfred Morris, Mark Ingram and Lamar Miller are all off the board by Round 4. The back part of my running back rankings are filled with players who could make a meaningful impact: Joseph Randle, Shane Vereen, and Tre Mason, but they have a few hurtles to overcome before earn a starting spot in Fantasy lineups.

2015 Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings

These running back rankings will update as training camps and preseason games progress, but this is an early look to help you start preparing for you 2015 Fantasy Football drafts.

Until there is a time table for Arian Foster’s return from injury, I will not include him in my rankings. I also have Alfred Blue low in my rankings because the Houston Texans do not have a clear plan on how to replace Foster as of yet, and I don’t believe Blue has the abilities to offer stable fantasy production.
