Here we go again with my FanDuel picks for Week 5. Although my lineups fared well on Draft Kings and Draft Day last weekend, the FanDuel ones I posted fell a little short in Week 4. Live to play another week is the mission here, and I am thinking we will get back on track in Week 5.

Each week I will be listing players at each position I am targetting and likely using in many lineups. I will also be sharing my actual lineup(s), perhaps not all of them, but at least one cash game (50/50 & H2H leagues) and one GPP game (Tournaments/Guaranteed contests).

I will be focusing on FanDuel for this post, and will be sharing other lineups over on Athlon Sports as well as Twitter. If you are new to the game have fun, don’t go overboard, and hopefully we will win some moolah together this season.

Week 5 Daily Fantasy Football: FanDuel Picks

Much like Pitching in DFS Baseball, quarterbacks are an important and vital part to your lineup each week. However, you do not always need to spend up on quarterbacks. In cash games it is recommended to target a Top 5 quarterback.

Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions ($8,100)

Palmer has been consistent, and he is priced well below many of the other top ranked quarterbacks. He had one of his worst games of the 2015 season in Week 4, but still put up 16.98 points  The Lions defense hasn’t shot down too many teams so far, and Palmer and the Cards should be ready to attack (Averaging 21.1 FanDuel PPG).

Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($6,900)

Bortles throws the ball plenty. He may not complete everything, but when he does, he has the weapons to make big plays. I am rolling with Bortles in GPP’s this week and this will allow me to get those few elite options mentioned below. He threw the ball 50 times last week, and 33 or more times every other week this season (Averaging 17.5 FanDuel PPG).

Running Back

Jamaal Charles, Kansas City vs. Chicago Bears ($9,100)

This is Jamaal Charles and we really shouldn’t need to clarify why you should plug him in your lineups, but this week with some value plays and saving a little on the quarterback position make Charles a good candidate. Especially against the Bears at home (Averaging 20.4 FanDuel PPG).

Anthony Dixon, Buffalo Bills at Tennesse Titans ($4,500)

Dixon is likely going to be the starter and primary workhorse in Week 5 with Karlos Williams’ unfortunate timed concussion. Dixon is not an explosive or fast runner, but he can pound the ball and wear down defenses. He also has prowess for the end-zone making him Fantasy gold this week for cheap (Averaging 2.3 FanDuel PPG).

Wide Receiver

Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers ($9,000)

Beckham had an off week last week, and I don’t expect that to happen this week facing the horrendous Niners team. If you can spend up for two players this week, Beckham and Charles are two of my faves in cash games (Averaging  13.7 FanDuel PPG).

Allen Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($6,300)

Robinson had a solid performance in Week 4 and is seeing plenty of targets. This week expect more of the same and even more potential for Robinson as the Jaguars face the turnover-prone Buccaneers (Averaging 13.1 FanDuel PPG).

Tight End (if you can’t afford Rob Gronkowski)

Charles Clay, Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans ($5,700)

Clay was the biggest target for Tyrod Taylor in Week 4 and with the loss of Karlos Williams this week, Clay may be in line for just as many opportunities in Week 5. Averaging 12 points is not shabby at all for a tight end, and he is considerably cheap (Averaging 12 FanDuel PPG).

Robbie Gould, Chicago Bears at Kansas City Chiefs ($4,700)

Another week, another kicker. The Bears haven’t been getting in the end zone much and this leads to field goal opportunities (Averaging 10.3 FanDuel PPG).

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay ($4,300)

The Jaguars are developing more and more each week, and this week they get the turnover heavy Buccaneers offense. They may not throw five interceptions again this week, but the chance is there for a pick-six and I will always take that risk in daily.
