The power of the pigskin was on full display as the National Football League celebrated the first Sunday of the 2015 season with a 13 game slate that didn’t disappoint. There was plenty of big news, including great debuts, a few injuries, and a huge day for tight ends around the NFL.

The new receiver in Green Bay is the old receiver from Green Bay.

Mariota was marvelous, but Winston wasn’t. Was this a one-week aberration or a sign of things to come.

Green Bay versus Chicago

Aaron Rodgers surgically dismantled the Bears defense with his pin point accuracy as he dropped dimes down the field at will.

After being exiled in Oakland last season, James Jones made a triumphant return to Green Bay hauling in two touchdowns.

Steady Eddie was on full display as he was his effective self and providing the perfect complement to the Packers offense.

Martellus Bennett rewarded his owners with a garbage time touchdown.

Kansas City versus Houston

Travis Kelce destroyed the Texans with two 1st quarter touchdowns and is a monster in the making.

Alex Smith still hasn’t thrown a touchdown to wide receiver but that does’t matter when you win on the road.

Indianapolis versus Buffalo

The mantra I continually repeated this preseason was in Tyrod we trust and he shined on Sunday.

The enigma that is Percy Harvin showcased his skills in this matchup.

The Bills dominate defense was on display as they they dominated the high powered Colts offense.

Carolina versus Jacksonville

Cam Newton help power the Panthers past the Jaguars on the ground and in the air.

A healthy Jonathan Stewart was the lead back with 18 rushing attempts.

Veteran wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery scored the lone offensive touchdown for Carolina.

The tide turned when Blake Bortles threw a pick six in the third quarter sealing the Jags faith.

Rookie TJ Yeldon had 15 touches in his NFL debut.

Breakout candidate Allen Robinson was held to one catch on the day. Robinson did exit the game briefly with a leg issue before returning and playing the entire second half.

Cleveland versus New York Jets

The Ryan Fitzmagic era opened with a win against the hapless Browns.

Chris Ivory looked primed as the Jets lead back and punched in two touchdowns on the day

Newly acquired wide receiver Brandon Marshall led the Jets in receptions and receiving yards in this week 1 victory.

After Josh McCown exited stage left with a concussion, Johnny football appeared on the big stage and threw a 54 yard touchdown pass. Unfortunately for the Browns that was the highlight of the day.

Rookie RB Duke Johnson Jr. had 7 rushes and was surprisingly shutout in the passing game. Isaiah Crowell total 14 touches but was ineffective on the day.

Travis Benjamin was the Browns offense on the day.

Seattle versus St.Louis

Nick Foles did it in the air and on the ground in his Rams debut.

The Benny Cunningham show totaled 122 combined yards in this overtime victory.

With Brian Quick being a surprise inactive, the Rams needed someone else to step up and Tavon Austin was that guy.

Did Dallas deserve to win this win game? The Giants certainly did not and suffered an epic fail as the game reached it’s conclusion.

Tony Romo led his team to an improbable victory in the minute of play and what can only be described as an amazing win.

Jospeh Randle totaled over 100 yards in this game.

The Dez Bryant injury was the big news as Dallas’ star receiver broke a bone in his foot.
