Eric Mack and I jumped on the mics for another Fantasy Fatcast Football podcast, and this time, we brought along a familiar face/voice/writer(?) in Mark Strausberg, one of the Fantasy Football writers here at (This was just one of a few podcasts we’ll have this summer on SCFE, including Joe Bond’s Fantasy Six-Pack Hour.)

Fantasy FatCast football PodcastWe’re launching our draft kit this week, which is free to readers, and will essentially be a jumpoff page to all of our 2016 Fantasy Football draft articles and podcasts! Our 2016 Fantasy Fatcast Quarterbacks Preview is just the first of the positional series we’ll be doing over the next couple weeks, and we got to launch two new fun segments we’re going to try to do each episode.

We share our strategies when it comes to drafting quarterbacks, as in when and why, and Mark talks about how he handles the position in 2-QB leagues, which he really enjoys playing in.

First, we picked a few names to see what each writer thought about them in our “Grizzle or Sizzle” segment. For instance, do they think Carson Palmer is someone whose Fantasy value sizzles as a seventh-rounder in Fantasy leagues? Or is he grizzle, meaning he’s not quite as tasty there?

Second, we introduced our “Finders Sleepers” segment, where all three of us name one deep, deep sleeper we like for the upcoming Fantasy Football season. For instance, a great “Finders Sleeper” quarterback last year would’ve been Tyrod Taylor! We each name a different guy for 2016 that we think might give Fantasy owners some good return in Daily Fantasy Football leagues at the very least.

One Jam-Packed Fantasy Football Podcast

We could have actually talked about our 2016 Fantasy quarterbacks rankings for a good 90 minutes, as each of us had some interesting takes on some big-time players for 2016.

For example, Mark talked about Drew Brees’ upcoming season, and shared his view on where he think he’ll rank come season’s end. I wondered what Big Ben Roethlisberger’s life will be like without Martavis Bryant and Heath Miller, and Emack shares his views on Tom Brady’s and how his upcoming four-game suspension affects Fantasy drafts.

First-Year Fantasy Benchwarmers

I wrote an article about rookie quarterbacks earlier this week that will be posted soon, and this just isn’t the 2011 or 2012 class of rookie QBs, when Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson and Robert Griffin III were killing it for Fantasy owners.

We talked in this Fantasy Football podcast about which of the big three rookies might be Fantasy viable sooner or later this year, Jared Goff, Carson Wentz or Paxton Lynch?

Once again, this podcast was a treat to record, once again, and we hope you’ll enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it! Send us your Fantasy Football questions to, and we’ll work our answers in during our next podcast!

The Fantasy Fatcast Football podcast be back later this week for our 2016 Fantasy Running Backs Preview!
