Since Back To The Future Day finally arrived and I DO NOT have a pair of Nikes that lace themselves, I figured it was a good idea to continue looking to the future. And who better to think about in future tense than the rookies. I enlisted the help of my good buddy and fellow SCFE expert Joe Bond to discuss some of this season’s top rookies. Which as well all know is near and dear to my heart.
The obvious place to begin is where this past NFL Draft did, with Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota. Joe and I go over who’s had the better start to the season and who’s going to be more valuable over the rest of the season. In true time travel fashion we look at the dynasty prospects of both Winston and Mariota.
We then get to a rookie who’s providing me with quite a bit of happiness, Todd Gurley. He’s not only playing well for a rookie, but he’s putting himself in Top Five RB territory for the rest of the way. Joe and I would prefer to see less than 30 carries but his production is undeniable. While we’re high on Gurley, some of the other rookie RBs who were hyped in preseason like Melvin Gordon and Ameer Abdullah have not had a great season to this point.
We round out our rookie talk with the hottest wide receiver of the last two weeks, Stefon Diggs! Oh and Amari Cooper is pretty awesome too. All that and more on this week’s edition of the SCFE Fantasy Football podcast!
