Ryan Fitzpatrick has reportedly signed a one-year deal worth $12 million with the New York Jets, according to multiple reports.

This was expected to happen sooner or later. While it has been a drawn out saga, this is probably sooner than most expected.

The only reason this is really considered a surprise this week is because of previous reports that surfaced about how far apart the sides were. I guess they weren’t.

Unless you removed Fitzpatrick from your rankings, this really doesn’t change his ranking much at all. He was never going to sign with anyone else, so his situation is basically unchanged.

The Beard remains a low end QB2 with QB1-upside in the right matchup. And if you prematurely removed Fitzpatrick ffrom your rankings — get him back in there!

This does, however, impact several other Jets players.

J-E-T-S: What Does Ryan Fitzpatrick’s Signing Mean to Other Jets?

Geno Smith, who was rising up draft boards, takes a nice tumble.

Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, who were beginning to fall in the 2016 Wide Receiver Rankings, should now stabilize. Marshall’s ADP should remain a late second-round pick while Decker remains an early fifth-round pick.

The biggest beneficiary might actually be new free-agent RB Matt Forte, who is now less likely to see eight and nine men in the box.

And yes, bump up the Jets D/ST slightly. Nearly everyone on the Jets is a little more valuable with Ryan Fitzpatrick signing.
