This week on the “So-Called Fantasy Experts” podcast, Dan Domenick and Joe Bond stop by to give their insight on how to build a fantasy baseball team. We also completed our first 3 man podcast with (almost) no bumps. Damn that intro music. And that random commercial music that only I was hearing. Maybe it was just in my head. It did teach me how to make soap.
When it came to team building I don’t think I could have found two people with more similar ideas and strategies. Their preferred league size? The same. The preferred draft slot? The same. Their love for JJ Hardy? The same. I’m sure both of them are happy they aren’t in a league together
We debated the merits of shallow leagues (10 teams) vs. deep leagues (14+) and they varying levels of skill needed to build out your roster.
Both guys were fans of drafting at the wheels of the snake when you draft two players in quick succession. They are apparently immune to getting sucked into closer or catcher runs. Hooray for you guys. My history shows I’m not immune. Curse you Chad Qualls!
What to do with position scarcity? Don’t stress about reaching for guys because there is going to be value later.
Dan had to leave early but Joe and I continued on discussing closer options and doing a little recap on our Slugging For Jude Dynasty draft. All that and much more this week on the “So-Called Fantasy Expert Podcast”!
