With the NFL season right around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about Fantasy Football. And then it hit me, we’ve never done a podcast about Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS)! It is so hot right now. And only getting bigger!
I did not find success in my first go round of DFS, so I asked David Gonos, another of our SCFE fearless leaders, to come on the podcast and give out some pointers on how to be successful. No one wants to be the sucker just losing their money. And man, I don’t think I could have found a better guy to give us beginners some tips.
David explains first how he started playing DFS, which he’s been involved with since 2008, so you know he knows what he’s talking about.
First he helps break down the different type of games you can play and which ones are most conducive to new players. He even gave advice on how to spread your money around for each of them. Oh, here’s a big thing I learned from this podcast, don’t bet it all on day 1! If you’re interested in DFS though, I would definitely suggest playing Week 1 as it’s going to be the biggest Fantasy Football day of the year!
He then even explained the strategies you can employ to win these various leagues! What a guy. Knowing the type of game you’re in is crucial as it helps you identify the type of player you need to draft.
David helped explain to me the different ways of approaching the positions for DFS as opposed to season long Fantasy Sports. Still spending the most money on RBs first? Nope. Like in the NFL, quarterbacks are king here as well. He also helped explain to me the only DFS strategy I knew before today, which is stacking. I thought that meant just drafting every Green Bay Packer I could get my hands on. Apparently that’s not exactly right.
All that and more on this episode of the SCFE Fantasy Football Podcast!
If you’re interested in DFS, this Podcast is definitely for you!
