A day later this week than usual, we are back to discuss the next position in the 2016 Fantasy Baseball position previews, third base.
First we cover some of the recent baseball news, including the Orioles signings of Yovani Gallardo and Dexter Fowler (note this was aired before his “defection” back to the Cubs). Also talk about the update on Jose Reyes and why you need to avoid him this season.
Third base is pretty loaded this year with lot of youngsters who really took the next step into stardom last season. Manny Machado, Nolan Arenado, Kris Bryant are just some players that took the next step. We discuss what you can expect from these top ranked players this year. Will they decline, actually improve and are they worthy of the top round picks that they are costing you right now.
After that we cover a few of the vets like what exactly should we do with David Wright this season? Also Todd Frazier, who may not be a grizzled vet, is older than a lot of the third baseman this year, will the move to the AL affect him? What about the two years in a row where he has had some pretty bad second halves?
FAAB or not to FAAB?
We also will have a fun discussion on whether to use FAAB (free agent acquisition budget) in your Fantasy Baseball leagues? Should you be using that over the standard waiver wire format? I think we you should transition to FAAB, but A.J. thinks the more standard and more popular way of handing pickups is the right way to do it.
Hear us go through all the points for both sides and perhaps I can change your mind that FAAB is the right way to go.
