Well, here we are, one game in the books and 15 more on the way! Hopefully, you have a hot start in your Daily Fantasy Football games and if you didn’t play last night, well don’t worry we have covered for this weekend.

There are a lot of high paying tournaments across the various sites, so in order to hit, you are going to need to find players that are not going to be highly owned. That’s not to say you should go completely off the grid and draft Christine Michael, but I would guess there will be low ownership on Darren McFadden.

Having a healthy mix of highly owned players isn’t a bad thing but you must be careful or you will not climb the rankings.

That’s why I’m here to give you some solid plays that may have low ownership. Some of the players below may be a repeat of yesterday’s article, but what can I say, I love them this week.

I will also be fading Eddie Royal, Davante Adams and Jonathan Stewart. Not that I think they will have bad games, just that they may be to heavily owned and if any of them falter you could move up the rankings quickly.

Week 1 Daily Fantasy Football

Quarterback

Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo Bills

Forget what I just said, Taylor will be highly owned, the reason being is he provides you so much salary cap relief it’s not even funny. He will be playing from behind and he is a dual threat quarterback so he could get you a rushing touchdown or two. I’m putting Taylor in at least one of my lineups this weekend.

Running Back

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings

We have all heard the narrative. AP is mad, AP is angry, AP is out to prove a point. All of this is true. He gets a 49ers defense that has been decimated by people wanting to take their balls and go home. Despite the preseason hype surrounding Teddy Bridgewater, I think we see a heavy dosage of Peterson. He is my top running back this weekend.

LeSean McCoy, Buffalo Bills

I am one of the few people excited about LeSean McCoy this year in Fantasy Football. I have a feeling you will find out why on Sunday. Indianapolis was ranked 22nd against the run last year and I don’t fully trust Tyrod Taylor as far as throwing the ball down field. I expect a heavy workload for McCoy as I really think Buffalo will try to control the clock. His ownership should be low, given the match-up.

Wide Receiver

Amari Cooper, Oakland Raiders

Targets, targets, targets. Want to hear something crazy? I’m predicting Amari Cooper will get more targets than Antonio Brown this year. That may be the only category where Cooper beats Brown, but I watched a lot of the Raiders this preseason and Derek Carr has googly eyes for Coop.

Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons

I expect Julio Jones to be heavily involved in a game with the highest over-under. Julio is very much like Antonio Brown, although he is taller which makes him a great option on fade routes in the end zone. Roddy White’s status may be up in the air for Monday, which means all your balls belong to Julio!

Jordan Matthews, Philadelphia Eagles

I loved Mathews this off-season and I think he will be targeted early and often. After watching most of the preseason games, you are going to want shares of the Eagles. I think Mathews is due to get the biggest piece of the pie. The Eagles are the Coors Field of Daily Fantasy Football.

Tight End

Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota Vikings

Thanks to Tyrod Taylor I was able to fit in my favorite Tight End (hopefully, my wife isn’t reading this). Kyle Rudolph is healthy and if there is anything Norv Turner likes it’s a power running game and a nice tight end (okay, this is weird). I like Rudolph as a nice check down option for Teddy B! Remember when Turner had Gates and Tomlinson? If I get half of that, I’ll be ecstatic.

Kicker

Sebastian Janikowski, Oakland Raiders

The fact I even have to write about a kicker is making me sick. I like Janikowski due to Oakland’s struggles in scoring touchdowns during the preseason. In the third preseason game, Janikowski went 5-5, plus the dude can hit it from anywhere.

Defense

New York Jets

Jets + Todd Bowles + Cleveland=Winning. When selecting my D/ST I always look for a home team in a low O/U. This game fits that criteria. The Browns offense is not very impressive. Let me repeat this, Jets at home against the Browns. My favorite defense of the week.

So, there you have it. These are my Daily Fantasy Football FanDuel Picks for Week 1.
