Welcome to the Week 11 version of Daily Fantasy Football D/ST Value Plays. I will repeat: do not pay up for D/ST!
Week after week I continue to see the majority of tournament winners use mid to lower-priced D/STs. It makes sense and is extremely effective. As unpredictable as defenses are in the NFL, there just isn’t a reason to allocate too much towards them. Instead, use the money to upgrade at a more relevant and higher-upside position.
Last week, the Rams had a dream matchup at home against a mistake-prone Bears offense, yet got ripped apart. How’s that for Week 10s highest price defense? Meanwhile, for the second consecutive week, I played the Eagles D/ST and it helped me win a little bit of money … $1,250 to be exact! Naturally, the Eagles price has risen to $4,900 – making them the fourth highest priced D/ST for Week 11.
Now paying up could pay off a week or two, but, statistically speaking, it isn’t worth the gamble.
Looking at Week 11, there are several quality D/ST’s that have been mispriced. Let’s take a look at this week’s value plays.
3 Daily Fantasy Football Value Plays at D/ST
Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers ($5,400)
To play the Week 11 top defense, you’re going to have to pony up $5,400 of your budget to pay for their services. Granted, the situation is as dreamy as Tiffani Amber Thiessen was in the 90’s – but beauty has its cost. The Seahawks host an anemic Niners offense that struggles to score, or for that matter, move the ball. The Seahawks are in a great spot to put up Fantasy points. So if you have the funds and feel like paying up for D/ST, here’s your play.
New York Jets vs. Houston Texans ($4,700)
The Jets have underwhelmed of late, but they have one of the best matchups on the slate. The Texans really struggle to run the football and will continue to do so against a stout Jets run defense. This will likely force the Texans to become a one-dimensional offense and force Brian Hoyer (concussion) or back-up T.J. Yates into a passing frenzy – which should give the Jets defense a ton of opportunities for sacks and turnovers.
On the flipside, the Texans defense has been playing great of late and could potentially go up against Geno Smith. If Smith does indeed start for the Jets, the Texans become a great value play at $4,500.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Diego Chargers ($4,400)
The Chiefs defense has played well all season and is averaging 12.6 Daily Fantasy Football points over the past four weeks. The Chargers, who can’t run the ball effectively, have given up their fair share of Fantasy points to opposing D/STs this season, and the Chiefs should be no different.
Over the past two weeks, the Chiefs have assaulted opposing quarterbacks by recording seven interceptions and 11 sacks. They have also effectively shut down opposing teams’ rushing attacks, allowing them to do what they do best: get after the QB. Philip Rivers is attempting an absurd amount of pass attempts every week, which should play into the hands of an aggressive Chiefs D.
Good luck in Week 11 and let our Daily Fantasy Football Value Plays help you build that million-dollar lineup. And in the event that you win, we take donations.
