Before we dive into my Week 11 value plays at Quarterback on FanDuel, I thought we’d take a quick look back at the past three weeks.
After guys like Andy Dalton, Blake Bortles and Carson Palmer were killing it in the early or middle part of the season, we’re looking at a different group at the top.
Drew Brees and Eli Manning are both top-five right now, mostly based on their matchup against each other a few weeks ago. Brees, though, has scored nearly 20 more FanDuel points than second-place Derek Carr.
And you know I’m all about using some different Fantasy tools to help you fill the best FanDuel lineups. One of those tools I like a lot is the defensive matchup per position tool over at JunkyardJake.com.
By looking at that tool, it helps us understand which defenses are the best to play against (New Orleans, Baltimore, Detroit, Tampa Bay and N.Y. Giants), or the toughest to go up against (Denver, St. Louis, Seattle, Atlanta and Minnesota).
The two surprising ones in those groups to me are the Lions and the Falcons.
Even though the Lions lost DT Ndamukong Suh, they replaced him with DT Haloti Ngata, but they’re still allowing over 260 passing yards per game.
And the Falcons defense, after giving up an NFL-high 4,478 passing yards last year – they have given up just 11 passing touchdowns this year, tied for fifth-best in the league.
Unfortunately for FanDuel players, Brees is on a bye this week, as are his bad Saints defensive mates. The Browns, with the second-worst defense against quarterbacks, are also on a bye.
3 Value Plays at Quarterback on FanDuel
We handpicked this triumvirate of DFS decency — three quarterbacks for your FanDuel lineups! These three QBs are good plays considering their prices and their matchups in Week 11.
Marcus Mariota, Tennessee at Jacksonville ($7,100): The rookie QB didn’t throw a touchdown pass in Week 10, but he was also facing one of the best defenses in the game (Carolina). The Jaguars defense has given up 10 passing touchdowns in their past four games, and it’s not like they were playing Hall of Famers, either (Brian Hoyer, Tyrod Taylor, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Joe Flacco).
#Titans interim HC Mike Mularkey on Marcus Mariota: "He's something special. He really is. Nothing has really fazed him."

Mark Sanchez, Philadelphia vs. Tampa Bay ($6,400): I like Sanchez in his second year in Chip Kelly’s offense, especially at this bargain price. He faces a Bucs defense that played well in Week 10, but they gave up 13 touchdown passes in their five previous games.
Tony Romo, Dallas at Miami ($8,000): It’s tough to pay $8K for the sixth-most expensive quarterback on the day – especially one that’s coming off an injury. But Romo has a great matchup against a very disappointing defense, and his offense is actually better than when he left it a couple months ago. The Dolphins defense gave up 392 passing yards to the Eagles in Week 10.
3 Quarterbacks to Avoid on FanDuel
This trio of quarterbacks are players you should stay away from for the upcoming weekend of NFL action. Some of these players might be worth a contrarian play in a GPP tournament, but for the most part, they’re players to avoid. I discuss how to pick contrarian players for tournaments here on FanDuel Insider.
Carson Palmer, Arizona vs. Cincinnati ($8,200): Palmer is one of the hottest quarterbacks around, with nine touchdown passes in his past three games, including three against the stellar Seahawks defense. But the Bengals have allowed just five touchdown passes in their past six games!
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati at Arizona ($7,900): I actually prefer to stay away from both of these quarterbacks in this game. J.J. Watt and his Texans teammates turned The Red Rifle into a Red Rider B.B. Gun Monday night. But Dalton has just four touchdown passes in his past three games, and the Cardinals kept Russell Wilson below a 70.0 QB Rating in Week 10.

Jay Cutler, Chicago vs. Denver ($7,000): It truly looks like a bargain price for Cutler, who has been playing well this season (five TDs in his past two games). But against the Broncos, he’s in trouble. Denver’s defense is allowing an average of less than one touchdown pass per game.
Hopefully, these Week 11 Value Plays at quarterbacks will help you in both your 50/50 games and your GPP tournaments on FanDuel, or whichever Daily Fantasy Football site you play on!
