I write this Week 12 Injury Report from the other side of a turkey. Having watched the Thanksgiving games, some good, some bad, I sit down to look over the practice reports and make sense of them for you this week.
We are a little earlier than normal due to a trip to my college Alma matter rivalry game, so Friday practice information will not be included.
The good news is that for most of the players, their status is likely not affected by the Friday practice. I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving.
As usual, make sure to check the inactive report prior to finalizing your lineups.
Let’s dive into the Week 12 injury report.
Week 12 Injury Report
Chris Johnson, RB
Johnson turned in limited practices early this week. Johnson has a banged up knee. I expect him to progress to active for this week.
John Brown, WR
Brown was out of practice Wednesday, but listed as limited on Thursday. He was active last week and scored for the Cardinals. Make sure to check the inactive list on Sunday, but you should expect him to be active.
Michael Floyd, WR
Floyd returned to limited practices early in the week. This is a positive step for Floyd. Monitor his status for Sunday, but it is trending in the right direction.
Larry Fitzgerald, WR
Fitzgerald has had a habit of being limited in early week practices and then going full on Friday. This makes me think that his status this week will be active on Sunday.
Devonta Freeman, RB
Freeman is likely out this week. He has not progressed through the concussion protocol this week, and has thus not practiced.
Leonard Hankerson, WR
Hankerson was not in practice early in the week. His status Sunday will need to be checked. He was able to play last week for the first time in a month, and was able to turn that into reasonable production.
Justin Forsett, RB
Forsett is out for the season with a broken arm.
Tyrod Taylor, QB
Taylor has been limited in practice this week. The positive news is that he has thrown again. The expectation is that Taylor will play this week. Check his status on Sunday to be sure.
Carolina beat Dallas on Thanksgiving.
Chicago beat Green Bay on Thanksgiving.
Nothing to report for the Bengals.
Taylor Gabriel, WR
Gabriel was out of practice with a concussion. His status for Monday is in doubt currently. Watch his participation level over the weekend to be sure he can go for Monday.
Dallas lost to Carolina on Thanksgiving.
Emmanuel Sanders, WR
Sanders turned in early week limited practices. This is a step in the right direction for his high ankle sprain. Check his status Sunday morning, but I expect him to go this week.
Detroit Beat Philadelphia on Thanksgiving.
Green Bay Packers
Green Bay lost to Chicago on Thanksgiving.
Brian Hoyer, QB
Hoyer returned to practice this week after missing last week with a concussion. He is expected to start Sunday.
Nothing new to report for the Colts.
Allen Hurns, WR
Hurns was limited in practice early in the week. This is a step up from weeks past, and you should expect that Hurns will be active this week.
Kansas City Chiefs
Charcandrick West, RB
West has not practiced early in the week. It is not looking good for him. Monitor his status Sunday morning, but have other options available.
Jarvis Landry, WR
Landry was out early in the week, but practiced in a limited fashion on Thursday. It seems that his knee is trending in the direction and that leads me to believe he will play this week.
Nothing to report for the Vikings.
New England Patriots
Danny Amendola, WR
Amendola was a surprise limited participant in practice on Thursday. His status should be monitored, but he is trending toward playing this week.
New Orleans Saints
Mark Ingram, RB
Ingram was limited in practice with a shoulder injury this week. He is on track to play, but you should make sure he is active on Sunday.
New York Giants
Larry Donnell, TE
Donnell is not expected again this week.
New York Jets
Nothing to report.
Nothing to report for the Raiders this week.
Philadelphia lost to the Lions on Thanksgiving.
Nothing to report for the Steelers.
San Diego Chargers
Malcom Floyd, WR
Floyd has returned to limited practices. It is unclear whether he will be able to play this week. If you are rostering him, check his status Sunday.
Marshawn Lynch, RB
Lynch had surgery on a sports hernia this week. Thus he will be out for multiple weeks.
Doug Baldwin, WR
Baldwin was out of practice on Wednesday, but fully participated on Thursday. He is trending toward playing this week.
San Francisco 49ers
Carlos Hyde, RB
Hyde has not practiced so far this week. He is unlikely to play this week.
St. Louis Rams
Case Keenum, QB
Keenum is practicing in a limited capacity while trying to make it back from a concussion. His status is in question for this week.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE
ASJ is still not cleared to take full contact. This does not bode well for his chances to play this week. The team keeps saying he might play every week, and at this point I’ll believe it when I see his name off the inactive list.
Dexter McCluster, RB
McCluster is out for a few weeks with a knee injury.
No injury issues to report for the Redskins.
And there we have it, the Week 12 Injury Report in all its glory. As always, make sure that you are checking the status of your players on Sunday morning. I hope you all enjoyed your turkey day and have a great week 12. Good luck this week.
