With just a couple weeks left in the NFL regular season, our Week 16 value plays at quarterback on FanDuel are meant to give you an edge in your cash games.
You’re either bounced from your traditional Fantasy playoffs, in the championship game or among the very few in the Final Four of their Week-17-championship leagues.
I wrote an article over at FanDuel Thursday that discusses the last two weeks of the Fantasy Football season in 2014, pointing out some of the different scoring trends we might expect late this year.
Some of the takeaways I took from the research was that over the past two weeks, we’ve seen more positive production coming from players in the $7,000 to $7,900 area than we did late last year.
One thing to remember, though, is that with very little inclement weather this season, quarterbacks won’t have as tough a time moving the ball through the air.
3 Value Plays at Quarterback on FanDuel
We picked these three quarterbacks for your FanDuel cash games lineups! These three QBs are good plays considering their prices and their matchups in Week 16.
Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota vs. N.Y. Giants ($6,600): Teddy hasn’t had great success in recent weeks – until Week 15, that is. He threw for four touchdowns and ran for another, and this price was set before that breakout performance. The Giants defense is the second-worst against Fantasy quarterbacks, and they allowed five touchdown passes to Cam Newton and the Panthers last week!

Blake Bortles, Jacksonville at New Orleans ($8,200): The Saints defense is horrible against quarterbacks. I chose Bortles for my Early Week 16 FanDuel Lineup and I’m sticking by him. In the five games before last week’s game against Tampa Bay, the Saints had given up 21 passing touchdowns. The only QBs hotter than Bortles since Week 13 are Cam Newton and Russell Wilson. Plus, the Jaguars running game is pretty beat up.
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh at Baltimore ($8,900): This is going to be a big day for all wide receivers in this game, and Vegas agrees, noting it has one of the highest over/unders of the week. The Ravens defense is allowing an average of 2.0 touchdown passes per game to quarterbacks.
Ben Roethlisberger is playing against DeAngelo Williams in #FantasyFootball this week.

3 Quarterbacks to Avoid on FanDuel
This trio of quarterbacks are players you should stay away from for the upcoming weekend of NFL action. Some of these players might be worth a contrarian play in a GPP tournament, but for the most part, they’re players to avoid. I discuss how to pick contrarian players for tournaments here on FanDuel Insider.
Cam Newton, Carolina at Atlanta ($9,300): This fella is tied with Antonio Brown as the most expensive players on FanDuel this week. But Newton and the Panthers are coasting into the playoffs, and he might not end up playing all four quarters, so I’d look elsewhere for this price.
Tom Brady, New England vs. N.Y. Jets ($8,800): Brady and Co. played well against the Jets earlier this season (he threw for 2 TDs and 355 yards), but he’s the third-most expensive quarterback this week, and Darrelle Revis is healthy and active. Over the past three games, the Jets defense has allowed a total of just two passing touchdowns to the Giants, Titans and Cowboys.
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay at Arizona ($8,500): The price is high for a guy going up against a ball-hawking secondary on one of the best defenses against quarterbacks in the NFL. Over the past six weeks, the Cardinals defense has allowed just seven touchdown passes. Plus, Rodgers hasn’t thrown for over 300 yards since Week 10.
Hopefully, these Week 16 Value Plays at quarterbacks will help you in both your 50/50 games and your GPP tournaments on FanDuel, or whichever Daily Fantasy Football site you play on!
