You’re back for more! That’s good to hear. Our Week 3 DFS value plays at quarterback will help set you on your way to a winning lineup on FanDuel.

Over the past two weeks, the powers that be over at the NFL schedule office (there is one, right?) decided to pair up several high-scoring teams against each other to really jumpstart the season.

Fantasy Football owners – and specifically, Daily Fantasy Football owners – were happy to see it!

But for this coming week, Vegas tells us there’s not expected to be a 50-point game among the bunch!

We don’t like it. We don’t like it one bit.

Our friends over at FantasyKnuckleheads.com created a superb Daily Fantasy Football Optimal Lineup Tool, which is definitely one of the best DFS tools around.

Don’t forget to also use Doug Anderson’s “Fantasy Points Allowed by Position,” where he breaks down the ability of defenses going up against each Fantasy position. The best part is – it breaks it down according to the individual scoring rules on several DFS sites, including FanDuel, DraftKings, FantasyAces, Drafster and FanThrowdown.

You can also check out my column on FanDuel Insider this week, where I share some of my favorite tips for GPP tournaments on FanDuel. So here are some of my favorite value plays in both cash games and in GPPs.

3 FanDuel Value Plays at Quarterback

We handpicked a trio of QBs for your Daily Fantasy Football pleasure! These three quarterbacks are good plays considering their prices and their matchups in Week 3.

Matt Ryan, Atlanta at Dallas ($8,300): While Vegas doesn’t expect this game to be among the highest scoring contests of the week, I do love the odds of Atlanta throwing the ball a lot. Devin Coleman (rib) is hurt, and Devonta Freeman probably works better out of the passing game anyway. I love that there are six more expensive quarterbacks this week, and that Ryan is averaging over 300 passing yards per game.

Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo at Miami ($7,000): This dynamic quarterback had to make some big plays in the fourth quarter last week to earn his owners some good Fantasy points, and the Dolphins defense will definitely keep him on his toes. I’m a fan of using Taylor and WR Sammy Watkins stack in larger DFS leagues this week.

Luke McCown, New Orleans at Carolina ($5,200): If Drew Brees (shoulder) can’t go, then the other McCown brother will start under center. Brees will throw Thursday or Friday to find out if he can go. There are pitfalls with McCown here, as the Panthers pass defense is pretty good and the Saints no longer have Jimmy Graham or Kenny Stills. Even so, he’s ultra cheap and should be a great pickup for GPP games. As I mentioned in my “Assessing FanDuel Values for QBs” article, the best spots to find quarterbacks that turn in 3.00 values (proj. pts/(0.001*salary)) is among those priced between $5,000-$5,900 and those priced between $9,000-$9,900.

3 Quarterbacks to Avoid on FanDuel

This threesome of quarterbacks are players you should stay away from for the upcoming weekend of NFL action. Some of these players might be worth a contrarian play in a GPP tournament, but for the most part, they’re players to avoid.

Tom Brady, New England at Buffalo ($8,300): While the Jaguars defense is improved, I still feel like the Patriots will be able to get out ahead by the end of the first half, allowing them to run a lot in the second half. I still like Gronk, of course, but not necessarily Brady as the third-most expensive quarterback.

Matthew Stafford, Detroit vs. Denver ($7,400): The Broncos currently have one of the best pass defenses in the league, and they will have had 10 days to prepare for this game after playing last Thursday night.

Derek Carr, Oakland at Cleveland ($6,600): He’s riding high passing for over 350 yards against the Ravens in Week 2, but the Browns have been really good against the pass so far this season. He also threw the ball 46 times, which likely won’t happen again. Vegas has this game as the one of the lowest scoring games of the week, with a 42.5 over/under.

Hopefully, these Week 3 Value Plays at quarterbacks will help you in both your 50/50 games and your GPP tournaments on FanDuel, or whichever Daily Fantasy Football site you play on!
