Wow. Where has the time gone?

It seems like just yesterday we were talking draft prep, ADP, and preseason takes.

All of a sudden we are 25 percent of the way through the season, and about 1/3 of the way through the Fantasy season.

We are starting to get a clear idea of who teams are and what they need. Some teams that we thought would do well are struggling. And some teams that we thought would struggle are doing better than expected. That’s the beauty of Fantasy Football.

And this article is here to guide you through the muck and the mire that is the Week 5 Injury Report.

Week 5 Injury Report

Arizona Cardinals

Andre Ellington, RB

Ellington was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. Ellington was close to being able to play, so you will want to check his practice status later in the week. This might be when he comes back.

Update:

Ellington had two full days of practice to end the pregame week. I would expect to see him in some role this week.

Atlanta Falcons

Tevin Coleman, RB

Coleman practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday for the first time since his rib injury. He may be able to return to game action this week.

Update:

Coleman progressed to a full practice on Friday. He will be in the lineup this week.

Leonard Hankerson, WR

Hankerson has a thumb injury. Seeing as a thumb is fairly important to catching a football, you will want to keep an eye on his status later in the week.

Update:

Hankerson was a full participant in practice Friday. He should be out there this Sunday.

Julio Jones, WR

Jones has nagging toe and hamstring injuries. He has been taking a rest day on Wednesday so far this season. There is nothing leading to a belief that Jones will miss this week.

Update:

Jones was limited all week in practice. He should still be able to make the game this week, but make sure there are not surprises on Sunday.

Roddy White, WR

White missed practice on Wednesday with a personal matter. White is not expected to miss the game this week.

Update:

White was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday.

Baltimore Ravens

Lorenzo Taliaferro, RB

Taliaferro did not practice on Wednesday. He has been suffering from a foot issue for the last few weeks. It hasn’t kept him out, but check back for the update to see if he progresses.

Update:

Taliaferro was limited Thursday and Friday, but is probable to play this week against the Browns.

Breshad Perriman, WR

Perriman is out. There is no clear timetable for his return.

Steve Smith Sr., WR

Smith has broken bones in his back. He did not practice Wednesday. His status is doubtful, but expect him to be out.

Update:

Smith Sr. was out of practice all week. I wouldn’t expect him to play this week.

Crockett Gillmore, TE

Gilmore has a calf injury and did not participate in practice on Wednesday. Gilmore has a chance of playing this week if he can get back into practice so make sure to check his update.

Update:

Gillmore is out this week.

Buffalo Bills

LeSean McCoy, RB

McCoy has been nursing a hamstring injury. He was not at practice on Wednesday, and is not expected to play this week. Make sure to check back later for a certain determination for this week.

Update:

McCoy is out this week.

Karlos Williams, RB

Williams suffered a concussion in last week’s game. He is in the protocol and the Bills have signed a running back. His status is uncertain for this week.

Update:

Williams is out this week.

Percy Harvin, WR

Harvin has been taking a rest day on Wednesday so far this year. Check back to make sure he progresses toward game day.

Update:

Harvin returned to full practice Thursday and Friday. He is a go this week.

Sammy Watkins, WR

Watkins has been suffering from a calf injury. He was unable to go on Wednesday at practice, but has not been ruled out for this week. Check back to see if he can make it back for this week.

Update:

Watkins is questionable. He did not practice all week. I would be surprised to see him in uniform on Sunday.

Chicago Bears

Jay Cutler, QB

Cutler was able to make it back last week to guide the Bears to a victory over the Raiders. He was limited in practice on Wednesday, but expect him to play this week as well.

Update:

Cutler is listed as questionable. He was limited all week. I would expect him to play this week, but make sure to check if he is active Sunday.

Alshon Jeffery, WR

Jeffery was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. This is a positive and lends itself to the idea that Jeffery will be a go for this week. Progress later in the week will be a good sign for him playing this week.

Update:

Jeffery was downgraded to out of practice on Friday. It is possible that he will play, but I would be surprised if he did. Trending down is not usually a positive sign for your ability to get on the field Sunday.

Eddie Royal, WR

Royal was not a participant at practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. With a great matchup in front of him, check back to see if Royal can advance this week in practice.

Update:

Royal didn’t practice all week and is questionable for Sunday. It doesn’t look good for his chances this week, but make sure on Sunday morning.

Cincinnati Bengals

Jeremy Hill, RB

Hill was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday with a knee issue. Check back to see what his status level is later in the week, but expect him to play this week unless something changes.

Update:

Hill was a full participant on Friday. Expect him on Sunday.

Cleveland Browns

Robert Turbin, RB

Turbin was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. Turbin continues to progress toward playing for the Browns. Check back to see if he is able to progress this week.

Update:

Turbo is getting closer, but this week doesn’t seem like the time.

Dallas Cowboys

Brice Butler, WR

Butler had a long reception in the Cowboys game last week. He then promptly left the game with a hamstring injury. He is expected to be out this week.

Denver Broncos

Peyton Manning, QB

Manning has had a regular rest day on Wednesday this season.

Demaryius Thomas, WR

Thomas was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. Thomas hurt his neck in last week’s game. He was able to return and finish the game. Make sure to check his status later in the week.

Update:

Thomas was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday. Expect him out there on Sunday.

Detroit Lions

Joique Bell, RB

Bell was out last week at Seattle, and his status didn’t change for Wednesday practice. Check back to see what his progress, or lack thereof, is later this week.

Update:

Bell is out this week.

Eric Ebron, TE

Ebron is likely out for multiple weeks with a knee injury suffered in Monday’s game at Seattle.

Update:

Ebron is out this week.

Green Bay Packers

Davante Adams, WR

Adams was unable to practice on Wednesday. Adams suffered an ankle injury and missed last week’s game. He will be checked out on Thursday, so check back later this week for an update on Adams.

Update:

Adams did not practice this week. Technically listed as questionable, it would be surprising if he plays.

Randall Cobb, WR

Cobb was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. Cobb has been playing through the pain of his shoulder injury, and that isn’t likely to change this week.

Update:

Cobb was limited in practice all week. I would still expect him to play this week.

James Jones, WR

Jones was limited in practice Wednesday with a hamstring injury. He’s not a young man anymore in NFL years, but Jones should be a player you check on later in the week.

Update:

Jones was limited all week, but is listed as probable.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Allen Hurns, WR

Hurns didn’t practice on Wednesday with a leg injury. Hurns was on the practice report last week and had a monster game. Check back to make sure, but I would expect to see him this week.

Update:

Hurns was a full participant in practice on Friday. He should be in on Sunday.

Marqise Lee, WR

Lee was not participating in practice after missing last week with a hamstring injury. Gus Bradley’s comments on him in the preseason are becoming more telling all the time. Lee just can’t stay healthy.

Update:

Lee is out this week.

Julius Thomas, TE

Thomas is catching footballs. This is progress after having hand surgery. The word is he will be back in Week 6.

Update:

Thomas is questionable after a week of limited practices. Fantasy owners will need to check on Sunday to make sure of his status.

Kansas City Chiefs

Nothing to see here.

New England Patriots

After a bye, nothing to report.

New Orleans Saints

Marques Colston, WR

Colston was not a participant in practice on Wednesday.

Update:

Colston was a full participant in practice Thursday and Friday. He should play this week.

Brandin Cooks, WR

Cooks was limited on Wednesday with an ankle injury. He was hampered by his ankle last week as well, but was able to go. Come back to see updated status later this week.

Update:

Cooks was a full go in practice Thursday and Friday. Expect him Sunday.

New York Giants

Victor Cruz, WR

Cruz has been a mainstay on the Giants injury report. Cruz has not played this season, and has had multiple injuries hamper him. Current guidance from the team is they are unsure when he will return.

Oakland Raiders

Latavius Murray, RB

Murray suffered a shoulder injury in last week’s game. He was able to return to the game, but was limited in practice on Wednesday. Check back to see what his status is later this week.

Update:

Murray made it back to full practice by Friday. Expect him this week.

Michael Crabtree, WR

Crabtree was not a participant in practice on Wednesday after missing some time in last week’s game with an ankle injury. His status Thursday and Friday will tell the story of his availability this week.

Update:

Crabtree was a full go Thursday and Friday. Expect him to be in uniform on the field Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles

Nothing to report.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers play on Monday night and have not practiced as of yet.

Update:

Still nothing to report. Big Ben is out. That’s about it for Fantasy relevant players.

San Diego Chargers

The Chargers also play Monday night and have not practiced yet.

Update:

Stevie Johnson was not able to practice Thursday or Friday with a hamstring injury. You will want to see what his Saturday practice status is, but it’s not looking good.

Seattle Seahawks

Marshawn Lynch, RB

Lynch was out last week against the Lions. The reports were that he was running on the field before the game. Fantasy owners should check back later this week to see if Lynch can get back into practice.

Update:

Lynch is out this week.

Fred Jackson, RB

Jackson suffered a high ankle sprain last week. He was out of practice on Wednesday. Check back as the team seems somewhat optimistic he will be able to go this week.

Update:

The word is that Jackson will play this week after a limited practice on Friday.

San Francisco 49ers

Vernon Davis, TE

Davis was inactive last week and Wednesday he was only a limited participant in practice. Check back to see if he can progress this week.

Update:

Davis is out this week.

St. Louis Rams

Nothing to report.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Nothing new to report here.

Tennessee Titans

Looking good coming off bye.

Washington Redskins

DeSean Jackson, WR

Jackson was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. He still has a chance to get in the game this week, but check back to make sure.

Update:

Jackson is out this week.

Jordan Reed, TE

Reed has yet another concussion. He will need to progress through the protocol to play this week.

Update:

Reed is out this week.

The week has rough spots for Fantasy owners. The first week of four teams on a bye coupled with injury woes can take a toll on your mind and roster. Make sure to come back again and read the updated week five injury report.
